We have been to every far corner of this vast land, including the delightful Dubbo, Denman (don't ask) and of course, Canberra SO many times because the War Memorial and Parliament House just never get old do they? And if they do there is always porn or explosives at hand as a back up plan. Apparently. I wouldn't know.
We survived the searing heat of Broken Hill in January and visited far away exotic places such as Tasmania. So, without further ado, I present to you the very best bogan holiday snaps, because, truly, bogans do it better.
Bogans doing it better on Fraser Island |
Outback Bogan Woman: I scared the dingoes away. |
Then, there was also our memorable trip to Western Australia. While there, we visited Wave Rock and Fremantle. At least, I think it's wave rock. Well, actually, I have no idea. In typical lazy bogan fashion, I've justed shoved the photos in an album and hoped I'd remember where they were taken. Might be, might not be. Who cares? I look like a dick head anyway. which is the real point of publishing these photos.
A bogan at Wave Rock. I think. I appear to be wearing some sort of ridiculous get up featuring a hat and a shirt that reaches my knees. But then, I have always been a style icon. |

Whilst in WA we decided to drive way up North to Monkey Mia, where we spent days sitting on a beach waiting for dolphins to arrive. One finally did.
It was worth driving THOUSANDS of kms for this one shot of a dolphin, right? |

What exciting adventures have you been on? Bogans do it better, right?
bogans really do do it better :)
ReplyDeleteOf course we do. Thanks for reading. x
DeleteBogans certainly do! Would love for you to go on posting photos... I love hearing about/seeing images of adventures! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I should have gone on posting, but it wouldn't have been fair to make everyone so jealous, would it? Thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteI have actually been to all those places, except Monkey Mia! We travelled around Australia in our caravan for 6 months back in 2001 when our kids were little. From Brisbane south to the snow, to Melbourne, across to Tassie, then back on the mainland over to Adelaide, up to Uluru, back down again and across the Nullarbor to WA, explored the south west & got as far as Perth before we ran out of time and had to come home again :-(
ReplyDeleteThat is the sort of trip my Micky Blue Eyes would love to do, but I'm not really keen on 'roughing it'. Hang on, I'm already roughing it in Boganville, arent' I? Hmmmm...
DeleteI've been to Canberra (once!) but none of those other places. You're far more travelled than me! This Brisbane bogan has not travelled much but can boast about a once in a lifetime trip overseas. Yep it was a HUGE event in my life when I went on my own on a big OS trip to visit my sister....in Singapore! My honeymoon was at Norfolk Island which I had to have a passport to go to so as far as I'm concerned it was OS too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOnce is enough. Um, I mean, NEVER enough. *coughs*
ReplyDeleteSingapore and Norfolk Island definitely count as os trips. I've only been to Holland with my parents when I was 10 years old, so I must get around to blogging about my memories of that oneday.
Thanks for reading. x
I have been to none of those places except Fraser! You truly ARE well traveled! I like your travel ensembles, I too err on the side of sun sense when choosing travel fashion. It's all in the we of the beholder!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's really a case of having no choice but to cover up when you're a ranga. I cover up, douse myself in 30 plus and STILL get burnt. Sigh. Thanks for reading dude. x
DeleteYou get around! I'd love to visit those places. Hopefully one day X
ReplyDeleteWe did a lot of these trips before we had kids, which made it a lot easier. I hope you can oneday too. x
DeleteYour captions are hilarious, we haven't seen much of Oz, but most of NZ and a lot of overseas! And I def travelled bogan style when I was a Uni, LOVE IT! Happy Easter Ness
ReplyDeleteOverseas sounds MUCH better than our bogan trips. x
DeleteI can't say I've travelled all that much (unfortunately), although I don't know if I would choose dingoes and Fraser Island as a holiday destination! As always, you had me laughing along with your Flashback! Thanks for linking up xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Cathy, I enjoy embarassing myself. I'm weird.
DeleteMy travel adventures have been none too exciting lately - seeing as I rarely do any traveling, but I'm going to Colorado in a few weeks and will get to see actual mountains, so maybe I'll have a story to share then. :) Love reading your adventures though... I'll have to come out to Australia one day.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Colorado! Hopefully you'll make it over here one day. xo
DeleteI went to Fraser Island solo almost 15 years ago. I ended up befriending an Israeli dude and getting trashed on sambucca one night. Sweet Jesus - that was a hang over to remember. Classy! It made the hike the next day painful indeed. I also had a misguided fling with the tour guide. Classy! I'd love to go back but not for those reasons. Fraser Island is a very beautiful place and I'm sure Dadabs would would have a great time with the 4WD.
ReplyDeleteSo well travelled! I've only been out of the state once. I mean hell I get excited about a trip to Mackay for heavens sake!
ReplyDeleteI was reading this at an in opportune moment and you just made me guffaw - so two language classes stopped to see what the noise was - I was walking in a corridor between the 2. Anyway, it is worth driving to see a dolphin and I'm jealous of wave rock. I wanted to go there but haven't...
ReplyDeleteAt least you are a well travelled bogan Ness!
